Friends and supporters,

Because of the tireless efforts of so many of you, we received the most votes of any candidate in District 1, securing our place in the runoff election.

Thank you for all of your support! We could not have come in first place without the help of each and every one of you. Thank you to our team of volunteers for their countless hours of planning, calling, and knocking; to our incredible group of student, teacher and parent advocates who have never stopped believing in public education.  From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Now, I have to call on our community to do it again.

December 9th will be the run-off election. Our voice matters now more than ever.

Will you help our movement continue to grow?

I am excited and ready to work harder than ever to ensure that all children have access to a quality education.

Thank you for all that you do,

I'm Elizabeth Santos, candidate for HISD Board of Trustees District 1.

District 1 has been my home for my entire life. I grew up and graduated from District 1 schools and for the last ten years I have taught high school in this community. As an educator, I have had the best preparation there is for the job of being a trustee-firsthand knowledge about how policies made in board meetings impact classrooms. I am the only candidate in this race who has pledged not to take campaign contributions from those who do business or seek to do business with the district, because I am fully committed to representing this community with integrity. I look forward to earning your vote and working with you to ensure ALL students within Houston ISD receive the education they deserve.
